ANZAC Parade, East Auckland

The ANZAC Parade in Howick, East Auckland provided an opportunity for National Superintendents of the Wesleyan Methodist Churches of Australia and New Zealand to celebrate the trans-Tasman denominational bond as well as to commemorate the sacrifice of previous generations that had answered the call to war.

Rev. Lindsay Cameron was invited to bring the Scripture reading and Rev. Richard Waugh led the crowd of 1000+ in prayer.

This opportunity came about because Rev. Cameron and Assistant National Superintendent, Rev. Gary McClintock, are in Auckland for discussions with the New Zealand National Council about the ongoing relationship between the two branches of the Wesleyan Church family. These productive meetings have focused upon revising the current agreement and initial planning for the Wesleyan Methodist presence across the South Pacific.
