In February 2010 the NSW District Board of Administration approved the listing of a new congregation at Canberra. This group has been launched as a joint effort between the NSW and Southern Districts, with Rev Rachel Tonga as minister. The National Superintendent, Rev Lindsay Cameron is pictured visiting the group during mid-week study on 17th February, just a week after their official launch.

Rev Tonga described how God has blessed the small congregation with an inner city meeting hall free of charge for 12 months. The group is seeking to reach people from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds, with Tongans and Australians attending already. Outreach events are planned for the inner city.
