A
METHODIST
"A
Methodist is one who loves the Lord his God with
all his heart, with all his soul, with all his
mind, and with all his strength. God is the joy
of his heart, and the desire of his soul, which
is continually crying, 'Whom have I in heaven
but thee? There is none upon earth whom I
desire besides thee. My God and my all!' Thou
art the strength of my heart, and my portion for
ever."
John
Wesley

OUR
BELIEF
|
 |
-
We believe the
Bible to be the inspired, infallible and
authoritative word of God.
-
We believe
that there is one God, eternally existent in three
Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
We believe the
Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
He made humankind in his own image and relates to
us as a loving, holy Father.
-
We believe in
the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin
birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in
his atoning death on the cross, in his bodily
resurrection from the dead, in his ascension to
the right hand of the Father, and in his personal
return to earth in power and glory.
-
We believe in
the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose
indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a
godly life and gifted for effective service in the
Kingdom of God.
-
We believe
that Christ's gracious offering of himself on the
cross is the only grounds for salvation from sin.
Salvation comes when an individual turns from sin
and trusts fully in the saving work of Jesus
Christ.
-
We believe in
the resurrection of the dead; they that are saved
into heaven and its eternal glory, and they that
are lost into hell and its everlasting separation
from God.
-
We believe
that the Christian church is the entire universal
body of believers in Jesus Christ. We believe that
a local church is a body of believers organized
together for the purposes of worship, fellowship,
discipleship and witness.
-
We believe
that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are the
sacraments of the church instituted by Christ.
